While working in a job that made him unhappy and negatively impacted his mental health during his teen years, Matt joined his local gym and experienced the benefit that a healthy lifestyle had on his mental well-being. He now finds coaching his clients into healthier habits extremely rewarding and loves the challenges that being a trainer brings him daily.
If you’re thinking about committing to fitness, Matt recommends hiring a professional to take the guesswork out of it and make your fitness journey a safe one. Try to find a trainer that is congruent with your goals.
Matt focuses on his clients feeling healthy, including being pain-free with lots of mobility work especially around the lower back and knees. He also mixes in weights for strength and cardio to help his clients feel energised.
Outside of the gym, Matt likes spending time learning, playing guitar, gardening, or spending time with his wife and kids.
